Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Houston is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have experience managing litigation from the initial filing through depositions, motion practice, hearings, and trial preparation. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with other attorneys and clients while handling complex business, construction, and real estate litigation matters.

Location:

Duties:

• Manage all aspects of litigation, including taking and defending depositions, attending court conferences, reviewing pleadings, and preparing for trial.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
• Conduct legal research and draft complex pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Handle court appearances and depositions regularly.
• Consult with clients to determine and address their legal needs.
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in an effort to resolve cases favorably.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all client and legal interactions.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients to contribute to firm growth.
• Stay updated with legal developments that could impact the firm’s clients.
• Obtain origination bonuses for acquiring new clients.

Requirements:

• Licensed attorney in Texas.
• Proven experience in civil litigation, with a strong understanding of the litigation process.
• Experience in business, construction, and/or real estate litigation is preferred.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive client matters.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Certifications:

• Must be a member in good standing with the Texas State Bar.

Skills:

• Strong litigation skills, including depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
