GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A Analytics will collaborate with partners throughout the business to enhance projections, support strategic initiatives and improve overall financial performance of the business.  This individual is responsible for supporting the DSW Segment (stores + eCommerce) with a focus on Top Brand and Exclusive Brand reporting & insights, external index comparisons, the growth of the Digital business, along with the overall financial support of the company's business strategy. This position will ensure consistent assumptions, clear communication, and timely delivery of a cohesive, thorough, and timely product.  Strong business acumen, attentiveness to detail and collaboration are keys to success in this position.

REPORTS TO: Director, Finance Analytics

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Derive and communicate brand level insights that are actionable and understandable at all levels *Enhance competitor benchmark reporting and index comparisons *Develop and maintain financial models that support the overall DSW business strategy *Approach business questions with curiosity *Ability to work under moderate supervision (work in the gray) *Leverage analysis & reporting to identify savings and process opportunity *Collaborate with partners to develop new ideas that support key business initiatives *Provide ongoing business insights that summarize and analyze business performance *Other ad hoc financial and accounting analyses

*Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills *Ability to interact and drive change across multiple areas *Demonstrated leadership qualities and capabilities *High initiative and self-direction *Ability to identify inefficiencies, recommend, and implement solutions to improve operations *Strong collaboration skills to build solid, trusted relationships across the business and with Leadership *Experience in forecasting and analytics *Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel *Ability to multi-task throughout the day

EXPERIENCE:

*2+ years of related experience in a fast-paced environment (retail experience preferred)

*Knowledge of finance/GL packages; Lawson, Hyperion or similar is valued but not required *Knowledge of business intelligence tools, MSI, is valued but not required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*MBA is valued but not required

EDUCATION:

*Undergraduate majors preferred: Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Business
