Document Management Analyst I (Entry Level Legal Support)
The candidate will invaluable knowledge and transferrable skills related to eDiscovery practice and procedures and utilizing document databases to conduct searches and code evidentiary material. Will perform legal, administrative, and evidence management duties under the direction of the team leader. Handle the intake of evidence, copying data, completing the chain of custody forms, and entering data into the evidence management system. Conduct initial review of data received from case teams. Assist with case organization and maintenance, including filing, retrieving, and copying case file materials; creating witness binders; preparing deposition and trial exhibits; entering data online to case files and other databases; proofreading, editing, and correcting OCR'd text files. Provide printing assistance, including tabbing, numbering, labeling, and assembling documents; filling out log sheets and reporting on task progress; and performing quality control on the work of peers in all of these areas. Prepare documents for image scanning; performs other document collection-related activities, including document screening and labeling of files to be scanned. Perform simple database searches. Must be able to read and follow instructions. Must be able to understand the task, task objectives, and the context of the task in the litigation support effort as a whole. Must take the initiative to ask questions when necessary to complete the task correctly (e.g., where instructions are not explicit or appear to be contrary to the task objective). Should have typing/keyboarding skills and good communication skills. Must be a knowledgeable user of the Government's office and network environment, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, imaging, and telecommunications systems. Training on the specific evidence management system will be provided. Undergraduate degree preferred. Litigation support experience valued.
