Tax Manager - Real Estate Services
The candidate will provide a review of partnership and corporate tax returns for real estate, private equity and emerging businesses. Lead execution of client tax engagements, including planning, budget, scheduling, billing and collections. Supervise, review and evaluate the tax work completed by other tax staff, and assist with their professional development. Draft memoranda on real estate issues identified that impact clients' business. Research tax issues impacting clients' tax planning projects, and provide effective resolutions that achieve client objectives. Use technical expertise to provide suggestions that improve efficiencies within clients' tax structure. Develop and sustain strong client relationships. Communicate on behalf of clients with the IRS and other tax authorities, and represent clients at any potential tax audits. Participate in client proposal and new business development opportunities. Remain current on latest tax practices and changes in tax laws, and how they may impact clients' business. Should have a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or Business-related field. An advanced tax degree (MST, JD, LLM) is a plus. CPA or EA designation is required. Must have 5+ years of relevant tax experience gained working in a CPA firm, a professional services firm or a tax consulting practice. Prior tax compliance experience with corporate tax returns, flow through entities, multi-state and individual tax returns. Relevant tax experience with real estate, private equity or emerging businesses. Prior tax experience with REITs (Real Estate Investment Trusts). Strong tax research skills and tax technical skills. Proficient with use of Microsoft Office Suite tools. Working knowledge of CCH Axcess and other tax software technology. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written). Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Ability to travel to client locations when required. Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
