This position coordinates all production, materials, and inventory within the BEC Manufacturing Area. The incumbent works with Process Technicians, Laboratory Technicians, Engineers, and support staff to establish and coordinate production, shipping, and receiving of products. The incumbent also communicates with Inside and Outside Sales, other Belden Facilities, and Outside Vendors as needed to execute the role.
Candidate should have knowledge of wire & cable manufacturing processes, constructions, materials, and basic design process.
Candidate should have knowledge of Belden systems (BPCS, MES, eDesk QTO, eDesk PS, etc) and be familiar with the process and procedures of Belden Production Orders.
Candidate should have a general knowledge of material shipping/receiving and storage procedures.
Candidate should have good computer skills and working knowledge of BPCS, MS Office, and other software commonly used within Belden.
Qualified candidates should have 3-5 years’ experience in a similar or supporting role within a Belden (or subsidiary) wire & cable manufacturing facility, and preferably a minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Cell Coordinator or similar role.
: Determines and establishes material usage requirements for production runs. Requisitions materials from Belden facilities or vendors as required. Establishes and maintains relationship contact with key internal and external personnel to enhance materials availably as needed to maximize efficiency and output of the BEC by requesting/suggesting material substitutions to improve commonality or the expediting of needed materials.
Production Schedule and Planning
: Establishes production schedule for BEC based on machine, tooling, and materials availability. Expedites orders as needed to meet customer needs. Communicates schedule (and changes/updates) to Product, Process, and Material Engineers as well as Sales. Responsible to publish and update delivery dates on orders.
: Produces and distributes Process Technician shop packets and instructions, reel tags, and prints product labels. Collects, posts, and audits their output. Generates documentation files on completed orders. Scans and maintains shop packets in eDoc system. Notifies Engineers of needed ECOs or Deviations.
: Receives, Stores, and Issues materials from controlled storage in BEC. Controls the RAW and WIP inventories maintained at BEC, including special UL Custom Label and other non-standard specialty items. Incumbent is responsible for organizing and taking the annual Physical Inventory Audit.
: Performs cost roll on all products manufactured at BEC, and is responsible to make all accounting entries as needed for BEC production (production reporting, scrap reporting, etc.)
: Generates BI, Hyperion, Excel, or other reports/data as required for function or management.
: Obtains approval from Engineer(s) as needed to ship product(s). Responsible for Tracking and Locating of in-bound and out-bound shipments. Assists shipping/receiving clerk as needed.
: Maintains and updates BEC LDM boards and coordinates any RCCM activity. Responsible for CSSB customer complaint resolution for BEC items.
