Job Description Summary

The Director of Human Resources will be a key member of the executive leadership team reporting to the Executive Director.  As an accomplished HR strategic leader, you will drive change transformation and strategy execution to achieve specific business results. This position is responsible for strength through overall employee selection, training and development, company culture preservation, talent management, recruitment, on/off-boarding, employee and labor relations, contracts and driving change management at all levels throughout our diverse and multi-cultural organization.  You will also optimize efficiency in operations while influencing and infusing company values, policies and procedures, in alignment with our strategic plan and growth.

This role is highly visible within our organization and requires a change agent who is a collaborative and strategic professional. The ideal candidate is both people oriented and business savvy with the ability to combine creativity and studied, factual optimism effortlessly.

Essential Functions:

  • Define and execute the overall HR strategy to drive a culture of high employee engagement in      alignment with our business strategy.
  • Maintains all HR functions and departmental processes to assure satisfactory employee relations, on/off boarding processes, competitive compensation and benefits, recruitment, accurate record keeping and retention strategies of all hourly and salary employees, supervisors, managers, and executive positions.
  • Manages an assistant (a team when necessary) and company-wide payroll.
  • Forecasts, implements and regularly amends or develops HR best practices, polices, handbooks, manuals, processes and procedures.
  • Ensures updates and administration of staffing handbooks and HR training materials.
  • Maintains compliance with all Federal, state, and city regulations, guidelines, policies, procedures and laws.
  • Assess and deploy staff compensation programs, including annual salary planning and budgeting, merit and bonus awards, incentive programs and the resolution of compensation issues.
  • Works with benefit brokers and representatives to ensure plans are properly administered.
  • Serve as a strategic partner with the Management team in the development of company plans and     programs to advise concerning the potential impact on people, resources, and logistics.
  • Forecasts, develop and implement short and long-range programs and initiatives to drive organizational effectiveness, professional development, and overall performance management of employees.
  • Continually assess the competitiveness and equity of all programs and practices against relevant companies, schools, industries, districts, regions, and markets. 
  • Anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with the executive team.
  • Directs and ensures that the preparation of all data and information required by Federal, State, an city regulations are provided and submitted accurately and timely.
  • Represents the agency at events important to its future growth.
  • Attends IAC HR committee meetings and participates in corporate compliance and safety committees.
  • Oversees and implements all aspects of the HR communication and administration function, including its strategic plan, design, budget, annual open enrollment and wellness program.
  • Develops and directs a succession planning and career development program to achieve mobility and flexibility in staffing allowing smoother transitions.
  • Knows and understands all new HR trends and technology, through involvement in professional organizations, associations, seminars, web-training, materials, etc.
  • Forecasts and implements new or amended contractor, employer and workforce
  • Build, manage, and motivate an impactful HR team to meet and exceed organization and departmental goals and objectives. 
  • Extract and share relevant insights to coach and empower managers to positively influence and impact workplace culture in alignment with our Company values and plans.
  • Serve as a liaison to advise and consult on cross-functional policies, processes, and facilitate relevant internal communication to employees, managers, and departments.
  • Define and monitor relevant metrics, ROI, and KPIs to proactively diagnose and address employment and operational related trends and company needs.

  • Prepare budgets
  • Use a variety of software packages, i.e. Microsoft Office, Paycom, Excel, etc.


Our selected candidate will have the skills to effectively implement all that you have previously read.



• BA/BS Degree (master’s degree or MBA preferred) in Human Resources or in a related field.


Key Experience:

•     Prefer 3+ years’ experience in HR management, business administration, or related field. 

  • Experience leading HR strategy development in the same or relevant industry.
  • Experience in human resources management level preferably with independent contractors


Job Type:  Full Time in a pleasant and modern atmosphere
