Security Engineer-Cisco and QRadar SIEM

Profile

Optima Technologies, Inc. a leading IT Professional Services firm has been engaged to provide
a Security Engineer
for a Tempe company that is dedicated to being #1 in the Industry! This is a 6 month Contract.
Primary focus will be on IBM QRadar SIEM and tuning. This will include working with systems teams to adjust logging. Other duties: Cisco firewall, IPS, IPSEC VPN, Juniper VPN, BlueCoat Proxy SG.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Security hardware and software administration and maintenance with some specialization.
Project, basic design, development, and operational configuration and implementation
Troubleshooting and security event response
Implementation to support compliance, best practice, and policy
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least (6) years overall IT experience, and at least (4) years experience in one or more areas of Information Technology Security with the following skills:
Experience monitoring and maintaining a medium to large-sized network
Experience working with Cisco Switching, Routing, and Security products, with some Design.
Advanced Switching, Routing, Firewall, WAF, VPN, IDS/IPS, Content Filtering concepts and configuration
TCP/IP protocol suite; advanced sub-netting and network address translation
Experience with routing protocols and concepts
Solid troubleshooting technique using CLI, GUI tools, and packet analysis
Experience with Security management software and tools
Configuration experience involving Internet traffic, protocols, and related services.
Experience with security policy enforcement tools.
Experience in some area of systems security controls.
Experience with vulnerability assessment tools
Some level of exposure to industry compliance and associated activities.
Experience with Wireless technologies and related security concepts.
Basic understanding of common application, web application, and protocol vulnerabilities
Basic understanding of Content Switching
Ability to provide technical leadership on small to medium-sized projects
Proficient in MS Office applications including Visio
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
