Baltimore office of a BCG Attorney Search Top Ranked Law Firm seeks patent prosecution - life sciences associate attorney with 5+ years of experience in patent prosecution. The candidate will draft and prosecute patent applications, prepare patent opinion letters, provide IP counseling to clients, and conduct patent due diligence studies in connection with business transactions as well as supervise more junior attorneys and patent agents as part of global client service teams. Will effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties. Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner. Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products. Successfully meet deadlines and expectations, and perform work duties as required. Foster positive work relationships. Comply with all firm policies and practices. Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods of time, including on-screen reading and typing, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and participating in meetings as needed. Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned. Must be familiar with patent prosecution, client counseling, drafting patent applications, freedom to operate opinions, and due diligence. Should have a background in life sciences and, in particular, biotechnology, registration with the USPTO, and an advanced degree, prefer Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology or similar disciplines (excluding chemistry, medical device, or pharmaceutical sciences). Should have direct and applicable large or mid-sized law firm experience. Must be admitted to practice in Maryland.
