We’re looking for a hands-on leader with expertise and passion leading engineering teams, solving difficult problems in distributed systems, and creating a secure environment for our customers. As a Senior Manager, Software Development you will lead an engineering team that owns the software design and development for major components of Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure. You should be both a strong people and technology leader, excellent operations and ownership, be able to lead the way from inception to market for new complete services. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.
• 2 - 4 years experience leading engineering teams, hiring, performance management.
• Demonstrated ability forming new engineering teams and collaborating across multiple teams in distributed geographies.
• 6 - 10 years experience delivering and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals and design patterns.
• Experience building security services or working in other infrastructure services a strong plus.
Top 3 skill sets / technologies in the ideal candidate:
1. Leadership of Software Engineering organizations with 10 engineers.
2. 6 - 10 years experience operating cloud services with 2 years as a service owner.
3. Infrastructure and Security experience a huge plus.

Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture. Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development.
