The Advice Product Manager will be responsible for the development and maintenance for assigned Advice products within John Hancock Retirement Plan Services. The ideal candidate will quickly become a proficient subject matter expert (SME) of all assigned Advice products. The position requires the ability to learn and retain detailed product information in 'real time' while working closely with Product Managers, Senior Strategic Managers, Vendor Partners, and Internal Partners.
The ability to work well in a team as well as independently is a must. The role requires a variety of product management functions: product strategy, business case and innovation, product planning and requirements, program establishment and management, product launch planning, sales and marketing support, and servicing and operations. This position reports to the AVP of Advice Product Management Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop, maintain, and enhance technology driven customer advice products for JH RPS, In Plan Advice Products Out of Plan Advice Products (IRA) Service as lead IT Project Manager / Systems Analyst with the goal of prioritizing and interpreting business requirements into technical deliverables Execute on product architecture strategy, based on awareness of multiple advice solution across the John Hancock Advice platform Deliver product requirements to development team(s) using principles of Agile methodology Able to effectively communicate product strategy to multiple audiences Create and manage vendor deliverables for Advice Product Statement(s) of Work Assist Senior Advice Product Manager with preparation and communication of strategic recommendations to senior leadership, e.g., vendor selection, product features/solutions, etc. Assist in the construction of operational policy/procedure manuals for Advice products Balance strategic objectives against tactical decisions regarding product implementation/development Identifying and prioritizing development items for post launch product enhancement Possesses "can do", problem-solver mentality Provide operational support and issue resolution as required Provide internal support to client/prospect facing teams as required Key Accountabilities Individual Accountabilities: Support the development of new advice products to drive the strategic direction of providing advice to JH customers Lead the technical, operational/servicing, and compliance work streams (60%) Co-lead vendor contract and statements of work development (20%) Vendor management (20%) Key Shared Accountabilities:
