Duties: Coordinates court advocacy and monitoring services, makes referrals to appropriate agencies to meet legal needs of clients, advocates for clients regarding any internal grievance. Assists client’s in obtaining civil protective orders and with immediate crisis matters relating to supervised visitation and child custody. Meets with potential clients to conduct legal assessments, sets legal advocacy goals and identifies resources to obtain goals. Advocates for clients and provides referrals to community services, including services. Provide educational groups for clients regarding legal options for victims of domestic violence.. Establishes and develops contacts with other agencies and partners in the community including those who would offer civil legal and/or pro bono assistance to clients.. Assists clients with application for reimbursement from State Victim’s Compensation Fund. Takes photographs of victims’ injuries and maintains photo documentation in file. Coordinates services with Family Violence Unit and Victim Assistance Unit of Prosecutor’s Office. Provides training to police on domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking as necessary. Liaison for Address Confidentiality Program and Savin Program. Tracks data necessary for ICJI grant reporting. Participates in staff meetings and in-service trainings, attends workshops and seminars outside agency.
