SUMMARY

Responsible for County grants, budgets, and accounts payable within the health district. Responsible for maintaining monthly documentation to the State of Texas, County of Nueces and City of Corpus Christi. Performs other accounting duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following:

Prepare county grants state financial reports such as monthly B-13 and annual FSRs.

Prepare monthly invoices to Nueces County with support documentation for County Grant Reimbursements.

Performs Cash Change Fund audits on vitals, labs, and immunizations monthly.

Receive Nueces County invoices for assigned County Grants on County general ledger.

Assist County and City Finance departments with year-end closing research.

File monthly reports and supporting documentation.

Obtain appropriate approvals for purchases.

Verify account balances for every purchase request.

Match receiving documents to invoices and code the invoices for payment.

Maintain files to expedite research requests for vendors and grant accounts.

Assists the accounting supervisor with other grant related duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration with emphasis on accounting, plus at least two years of accounting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and legal requirements; ability to operate a calculator, typewriter, computer terminal and personal computer using word processing and spreadsheet programs; ability to work accurately with numerical detail, to perform accounting procedures in an orderly manner, and to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data in a clear and concise form; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other county employees, officials and the public.
