Admitting Representative','MIL001906','!*!Position Details:

The Admitting Representative is responsible for conducting interviews with patients representing the medical center’s admission and financial policies and obtains demographic and third party payor information necessary for admission and billing of patient accounts.

Obtains accurate and current patient demographic and financial information to establish a valid medical record and patient billing account, to expedite third party billing and collection in accordance with established hospital billing policies and standards.

Obtains insurance authorizations by notifying all insurances/medical groups timely (prior to services rendered for elective admissions and within 24 hours and/or the next business day for urgent/emergent admissions)  in order to verify eligibility, obtain benefit plan information, and secure authorization when necessary. 

Must have excellent customer relationship skills and the ability to work in a high stress fast paced environment.

','!*!Minimum Requirements:

A minimum of a high school diploma.  2 years experience in hospital or clinic admitting setting.  Experience and understanding of the hospital, medical environment and government agencies.  Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.  Minimum typing/keyboard skills of 45 WPM.  Bilingual Preferred.
