As part of eHow’s Editorial Team, the Senior Manager, Social Media will develop eHow’s social strategies and lead eHow’s social team as we build a thriving community of engaged users and convert them into brand evangelizers.
Responsibilities:

Grow community engagement and social referrals;
Develop successful strategies for Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter, as well as other emerging social networks;
Lead the development of eHow’s social publishing process, social guidelines and calendar for social content;
Develop community building strategies, both online and offline;
Track and optimize performance of content against social referral and traffic goals, and promote best practices;
Understand the ever-changing landscape of social media networks and adapt eHow’s social strategy to suit evolving best practices;
Lead the social media team and mentor its members;
Provide editorial leadership and active engagement with Product, Engineering and R&D to achieve social objectives;
Perform other tasks and projects as necessary when required to support business objectives



 Requirements:


Bachelor’s degree required. Journalism, English, communications or related field preferred.

Proven success in developing strategies for all major social media platforms, including Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter;
Solid experience in short term (seasonal, trending) viral initiatives as well as long-term, brand building social campaigns;
8 years editorial experience in all aspects of content, including writing, editing and content management;
Proven success with developing and managing contests driven through Facebook, Pinterest or Twitter;
Skill at managing the interplay between SEO and social media best practices;
Ability to engage an audience with multiple segments and widely distributed demographics;
Strong interpersonal skills and experience collaborating in a team environment;
Strong management and mentoring abilities;
Ability to balance several projects at once while working in a deadline-driven environment;
Excellent editorial judgment and knowledge of AP style;
Passion for social media as a content distribution channel.
