Primary Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, you must be able to report daily to the company's Scottdale, GA Office to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified candidates with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

  • Maintain a professional rapport with all management, support staff and direct/indirect labor employees;
  • Support HR/Compliance Manager in ensuring implementation of policy, legislation and best practice, as set forth by executive management by explaining human resources policies and procedures to managers and employees.
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to those served by the Corporate HR Department, including regional and branch-level management and HR staff, executive management, and general labor force.
  • Maintain and update human resources documents, such as performance evaluation forms.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and affirmative action guidelines and laws, such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Maintain employment records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software and distributing to appropriate departments.   
  • Provide Corporate HR manager with information related to performance appraisals, counseling, or documentation of performance issues.
  • Schedule or conduct new employee orientations.
  • Audit company training including the EEO Respect and Courtesy Standard.
  • Other duties as assigned to support both the Corporate HR and local team.
  • Some travel will be required
  • Office hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed
  • 5+ years’ experience working in an HR department
  • Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
  • Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations
