RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide planning, project coordination, and management for the development and maintenance of effective and efficient services to meet current and future attorney recruitment and professional development needs. Envision, establish, and implement programs that effectively address attorney recruitment and professional development needs in support of the Firm’s strategic overall business and staffing needs. Regularly evaluate and review current practices, programs, policies, and procedures and, as appropriate, recommend appropriate changes or enhancements. Stay abreast of trends and changes in attorney recruitment and professional development, and the legal industry in general.As appropriate, make recommendations to appropriate Firm leadership. Maintain and facilitate the use of viGlobal online and other firm systems in support of position responsibilities to include applicant tracking, recruitment, professional development, and performance evaluations. Responsible for the design and execution of appropriate programs and processes in support of effective and efficient attorney recruitment, selection and hiring. Propose and implement strategy for law student outreach including building and maintaining relationships with law school career services and student groups, identifying new organizations for sponsorship and partnerships, and attending events as needed for staffing. Work closely with the CTO, hiring partners and the Firm’s Hiring Committee to analyze recruitment efforts and, as appropriate, recommend changes to ensure all processes are executed timely and are effective. Work closely with the Marketing Department to ensure the Firm website is being fully utilized in support of the recruitment process and that all information is up-to-date. Plan, manage, implement, and deliver new attorney orientation and onboarding programs to include the new associate fall program and programs for attorneys arriving throughout the year. Work closely with CTO and other key stakeholders to support and manage the partner recruiting and onboarding process. Administer all non-partner attorney performance evaluation processes to include the spring and fall processes utilizing the Firm’s online evaluation system, viEval. Create and oversee, working with appropriate internal partners, attorney developmental programs. Work with CTO to execute recommendations from pulse survey. Measure and report back on effectiveness of said initiatives. Work closely with the CDEIO and CTO to develop, implement, and evaluate trainings, curricula, and programs to execute the Firm’s diversity and inclusion strategy. Develop and facilitate the Firm’s in-house CLE program using firm lawyers and outside consultants to deliver state-of-the-art training to the Firm’s lawyers. Work with the Marketing Department and individual partners to deliver CLE programs to outside clients. Oversee the firm database for tracking lawyer mandatory CLE. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CLE rules and regulations. Manage the Firm’s attorney mentor programs to include designing, implementing, and encouraging participation in appropriate mentoring activities and events to support the desired “mentoring culture.” In conjunction with CDEIO, work to develop resource group specific mentoring initiatives. Take necessary steps to develop, foster, and support positive relations to include serving as a resource and providing counsel to all lawyers on issues and concerns, and planning and facilitating various attorney events to include attorney, departmental, and case team lunches and dinners. Other Additional Duties: Draft, coordinate approvals, and track relevant industry surveys. Supervise provided support resources to include secretarial assistance. Perform various special projects at the request of the CTO, CDEIO, Management Committee, Managing Partner, and/or Hiring Partners. Responsible for day-to-day management and oversight of Recruiting and Professional Development team.
