Manager, Business Affairs, CNE
The candidate will participate in the negotiation of rights, writer, producer, license, exclusivity, shopping, attachment, co-production and production services agreements, among others. Draft basic form agreements, review/revise/redline/proofread agreements for accuracy of terms negotiated. Assist in driving and securing the best deals possible to help achieve the creative and commercial objectives of the company. Review deals and analyze contracts to synthesize information and create summaries (including necessary contractual/research information) to guide the CNE team and other relevant stakeholders. Strategically prioritize, problem solve, and find solutions as required. Manage special projects and conduct research as designated. Maintain, organize and localize contract templates across our regional offices in order to to create precedent and provide guidance for teams across the globe. Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and across the organization, including the ability to interact effectively within a range of personalities and styles and build strong internal relationships. Function as liaison and ensuring effective communication between various departments, including creative, finance, accounting, legal, rights clearance, licensing, and business development. Interact seamlessly with and obtain input from executives in creative, business affairs, finance, licensing, and legal departments. Ensure information flows properly and issues are escalated at the right time and to the right people. Provide regular status updates with respect to deals. Assist with organizational and business functions of the Business Affairs and Operations department as needed, including drafting correspondence, drafting deal memos, drafting presentation decks, tracking precedent, project milestones and/or communications, and creating forms and organizational systems. Maintain awareness and understanding of the latest developments in entertainment law and keep up to date on trends in the entertainment industry.
