AVP, Tax Director
Duties: Actively manage quarterly and year-end tax reporting process for income taxes pursuant to ASC 740 and/or statutory income taxes pursuant to SSAP 101. Prepare/review tax related reporting disclosures. Manage quarterly reviews and year-end tax provision audits by the external auditor. Prepare/Review quarterly and forecasted income tax provisions and effective tax rate. Monitor and develop internal controls over income tax reporting processes (Sarbanes Oxley compliance). Coordinate with tax managers in planning, federal, and state compliance on various tax accounting and return matters. Prepare/review quarterly and year-end account reconciliations, account proofs and account roll-forwards. Make meaningful contributions to development and training of Corporate Tax Department staff. Maintain tax basis balance sheet and deferred tax inventory. Lead tax accounting and tax return process improvements and documentation enhancements. Assist Tax Planning with analyzing proposed transactions and tax planning activities. Manage documentation of processes, procedures and technical issues. Lead and participate in special projects and/or initiatives, as needed. Serve as a liaison with Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Legal, lines of business and other internal customers to ensure appropriate management of tax reporting and risk. Other duties and projects as assigned.
