The candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice to internal clients on a wide range of issues related to Freddie Mac as a business entity, legislative, regulatory, compliance, and risk management matters affecting the legal and business environment in which Freddie Mac and other financial institutions operate. Will be providing legal strategic advice to business units on submissions to and appearances before government officials and agencies. Interpreting the firm’s statutory powers and obligations and advising about requirements under applicable laws and regulations. Advising on regulatory issues, including safety-and-soundness requirements related to capital, liquidity, and resolution planning. Advising business areas on the legal implications of business activities. Advising on issues related to oversight and operation of Freddie Mac by FHFA as conservator. Providing analysis and input into strategic decisions related to legislative and regulatory issues. Supporting risk management and regulatory compliance initiatives. Leading company responses to regulatory rulemaking. Representing Freddie Mac before regulatory agencies and other parties.
