Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a self-starting Associate Attorney for its General Liability practice group in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have strong writing, research, and litigation skills, and be ready to contribute to complex legal cases in a collaborative environment. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and develop professionally within the field of civil litigation.

Location:

• New York, NY

Duties:

• Review case files and conduct legal analysis of claims and causes of action
• Perform legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
• Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and during depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Collaborate with expert witnesses
• Participate in trial preparation and attend trials
• Travel may be required for court appearances and depositions

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in General Liability (experience in other practice areas is a plus)
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school
• Admission to practice in New York and New Jersey (admission in other states is a plus but not required)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
• Strong work ethic, self-management skills, and ability to work collaboratively
• Timely responses to emails and phone inquiries
• Exceptional client communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice in New York and New Jersey (additional state bar admissions are a plus but not required)

Skills:

• Expertise in General Liability law
• Litigation and trial experience
• Strong research, writing, and oral communication skills
