The program will helps noncustodial parents with basic legal information, education, and resources.
Duties: Working directly with lower-income clients who are struggling to understand their rights as noncustodial parents. Will be educating them on matters like parenting orders, possession schedules, conservatorship, and child support. Will be pointing them to additional organizations, agencies, and resources that may be available to help — including other programs. Will assist callers over the phone, usually in real-time. Will dissect situations to determine legal needs, translate legal information into language that clients can easily understand, and receive a general overview of family law. Will learn skills like client communications, phone/speaking skills, conflict resolution, and general office procedures.
