SUMMARY

Bering Straits Information Technology (BSIT), LLC a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is looking for a VTC Subject Matter Expert to support Headquarters (HQ) United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) located at Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii. USPACOM is one of six geographic Unified Combatant Commands. The USPACOM Area of Responsibility (AOR) encompasses about half the earth's surface, stretching from the waters off the west coast of the U.S. to the western border of India, and from Antarctica to the North Pole. USPACOM J6 (Command, Control, Communications & Cyber (C4) Directorate) provides the communications and IT services to critical for the PACOM Commander to Command and Control (C2) forces across the theater. This must not fail mission depends on highly secure & reliable voice, data, and video communications. USPACOM operates the Common Computing Environment (CCE) surrounded by a network defense infrastructure. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an experienced

VTC Subject Matter Expert

who will take on the communication & IT services. This support includes Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Network Engineering Services that will plan, analyze, design, develop, test, configure, install, implement, integrate, and manage/maintain network systems use for transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats, while implementing DoD and USPACOM security procedures and tools. Implement cyber security best practices. Design and development refers to the configuration of existing systems, both hardware and software. This includes, but not limited to, network engineering for Cisco-based and VTC-based systems. Contractor will monitor VTC and AV networked systems/equipment, VTC Best Practices, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance regarding updated system firmware, software patches, and certificates as well as physical/IT security employment, and Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) handling processes.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

Require(s) a Top Secret security clearance and a IT-I (privileged level systems access) will, immediately upon hire, require Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access eligibility

IAW DoD 8570.01-M, must meet IAT II minimum qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience managing, maintaining, and operating Video Teleconferencing systems and networks

Must have experience managing Cisco-based network architectures in a DoD environment

Must be a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS)

CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification required

At least 3 years of experience with Electronic Key Management Program (EKMS) and cryptologic equipment to include KIV-7M and SG-250 families

Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, are required for individuals supporting tasks in this PWS, as there will be considerable interaction with customers, vendors, Headquarters Program Director staff, and other high-level stakeholders in support of these requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

B.S. or other technical degree or equivalent work experience required

Security Certification is required. (Must be able to obtain certification)

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree or higher from accredited college or university in a field directly related to the duties of this position

Proven working experience in Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Network Engineering Services in the information technology sector

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

Applicant must sign a NON-EXCLUSIVE letter of commitment. The letter of commitment shows serious intent to perform this job function. Letter of commitment does not contractually obligate applicant to fill position. As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
