Postdoctoral Research Associate
The candidate will work in the ethical, legal, and social issues (ELSI) related to large-scale genetic/genomic research. Will work closely with an interdisciplinary group of CGS investigators to conduct social science, public health, philosophical, policy, and/or legal research on ELSI issues related to targeted genome sequencing of asymptomatic adults for preventable health risks. Post-doctoral fellows will participate in CGS seminars and workshops as well as training tailored to individual interests, with opportunities for teaching experience, co-authorship on CGS manuscripts, grant writing experience, and independent grant submission and publication. Should have strong empirical research skills in social science, legal, bioethical, or health research. Should have a strong interest in ELSI research, and have recently completed doctoral training (PhD, JD, MD degree) before beginning the program. Degrees can be in a variety of disciplines in the social and behavioral sciences, genetics or other basic sciences, epidemiology, nursing, medicine, law, or one of the humanities.
