Associate Counsel
Responsibilities: Provides excellent legal counsel to Bank management and associates in order to anticipate legal issues, solve problems, and minimize legal risks and losses. Takes responsibility for developing applicable legal knowledge and expertise in assigned areas. Consults with both internal and external counsel on the resolution of legal matters. Proactively engages with assigned business units and associates to provide exceptional legal support. Performs a range of tasks to support management and more senior legal counsel throughout daily operations. Effectively consults and communicates instructions on the handling of specific transactions or other sensitive matters. Develops and implements policies and procedures utilized across the enterprise. Drafts, negotiates, and maintains contracts or other transaction-specific legal documentation. Develops new legal forms and templates. Communicates directly in-person, by telephone, by videoconference, and by email with bank officers, other business leaders, and associates. Must communicate clearly, effectively, and politely.
