Employment Law Staff Attorney
Duties: Provide excellent customer service to members, while developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key contacts at member companies; use metrics to enable members to maximize use of services; complete administrative tasks related to members, Provide consultative and legal advice, recommendations, and practical solutions to members on a variety of complex HR and employment law related issues. The interactions with members may occur by phone, email, or in person; Represent and defend members in federal and state administrative proceedings including: civil rights charges, unemployment hearings and appeals, wage claims, wage and hour complaints, and federal and state employment agency audits; Conduct training courses for small and large audiences in a classroom, online, or conference style format, and also onsite at member companies; As needed, develop new classes, programs, or materials to meet members’ needs; Draft, review, and recommend changes, amendments, and/or improvements to documents including employee handbooks, policy manuals, employment agreements, and other employment related documents; Write concise guidance and legal updates for HR professionals and company management; continually develop knowledge and proficiency in employment law, labor law, and HR best practices; Accurately and timely complete administrative functions such as time accounting, expense reports, and member database changes; and Regular and reliable attendance during core business hours.
