Legal Contracts Administrator
The candidate will provide responsibilities include: Acts as the primary contact for firm initiation of all non-grant contracts (including CDAs, MTAs, DSUAs, Visiting Scientist Agreements, Consulting Agreements, Research Collaboration Agreements, Research Plans, etc.). Obtains, assesses, and summarizes project information from scientific personnel and, in coordination with the Legal Department, determine which legal instrument is needed. Promptly enters accurate and complete contract data and information into firm legal intake database. Seeks out follow-up information, as requested by firm Legal Department and works with firm Contracts Manager and other Legal Department members to assess priorities. Provides external parties with draft agreements and/or red lines during negotiation process. Coordinates, manages and facilitates the timely development of contracts and the contracting process in accordance with project specific timelines, including anticipating and identifying potential issues and communicating with the appropriate scientific and Legal team members to prevent delay and following up with outside parties to help ensure prompt resolution of the contracting process. Ensures the delivery of fully executed contracts to appropriate firm team members and outside parties. Participates in regular Legal Department meetings and attends firm Office of Sponsored Research/Project Management/Business Development meetings to discuss status updates and coordinate across projects. Maintains correspondence, positive relations and interaction with firm personnel and external parties. Works with legal, scientific, administrative, management and other personnel at firm and external parties to fulfill duties. Communicates with scientific, business and management leaders on contract status, priorities and activities. Identifies issues associated with departmental processes, provides recommendations and assists with the implementation of improved protocols. Such other activities as the Legal department may request.
