Litigation Supervisor
The candidate will oversee a team of Litigation adjusting staff. Conduct routine diary reviews on open pending in accordance with handling and supervising guidelines. Work with direct reports and management team in developing disposition strategies, setting and approving authority levels, and approving payment requests. Assess and manage performance of direct reports, including coaching, mentoring and action planning. Assist litigation representatives with negotiating larger suit settlements in coordination with defense counsel. Attend mediations and or arbitration for higher profile litigation cases as requested. Monitor progress on assigned open cases and work with litigation representatives and defense counsel performance/billing, when necessary, to bring cases to a close. Monitor and manage defense costs and billings from third parties such as defense counsel and experts. Oversee the coordination of discovery responses through legal assistants, corporate representatives, and defense counsel for assigned cases. Provide information to Litigation Director for a monthly status report to Corporate Management on the status of the litigation. Participate in file reviews and support the Quality Management program. Coordinate with the pre-suit team, and participate in roundtable committees and other suit avoidance programs. Review documents in the litigation management database system. Conduct regular reviews of reserves, along with a quarterly reserve reconciliation with litigation representatives and provide guidance as needed.
