Medical Records Clerk
The candidate will deliver outstanding client service to clients on behalf of the Cesar Ornelas Injury Law while adhering to the highest ethical standards. In a team environment, work with the client to understand all medical providers that have provided treatment to client, effectively request and receive each individual case’s medical records and bills according to office policies. Follow up with any medical providers that have not timely complied with the requests. Work diligently towards organizing client’s medical information and forming demand packets. Review files with the Lead Attorney and Case Manager on a daily basis. Maintain each individual medical file so that all information is filed into the file and mirrored in the client matter management system and scanned to the document management system. Interact daily with assigned clientele to effectively gather medical provider information which will provide direction on requesting information from correct medical providers. Work closely and in tandem with Lead Attorney and Case Manager (CM) in a team environment and ensure all policies and procedures are followed. Communicate daily with Lead Attorney and CM using multiple mediums (ie. In person, Email, written reports, one on one presentations, etc.) to address any medical records and billing request and demand creation issues. Quickly and efficient request and obtain proper medical bills and records from various medical providers with continuous follow up. Quickly and efficiently prepare auto Liability, Uninsured (UM), Underinsured (UIM), and Personal Injury Protection (PIP)/ Medical Payment (Med Pay) demands upon request from assigned attorney and/or assigned CM daily and mail them out when ready. Work with Auditors to meet Demand goals and medical and bills requests goals. Relay client complaints, issues, requests, and demands to Lead Attorney and CM quickly so these issues are addressed. Provide close attention to all clients and medical providers both in person and over the phone. Continuous follow up with medical providers regarding current cases in demand status to quickly gather supplementing medical information for incomplete demands. File management encompassing keeping medical folder organized and filing medical bills and records daily. High School Diploma degree is required. Associate’s Degree or Undergraduate Degree is preferred. Medical Office/Technologist Certificate is preferred. Previous Medical Office or Medical Claims experience is preferred. Previous Customer service/sales experience is preferred.
