Candidate will handle a wide variety of general and legal clerical work which includes composing and typing legal documents and correspondence, processing of legal documents, and maintenance of legal case records. Will generally repetitive and require minimal supervision once office procedures are learned. Must have: Knowledge of: Purpose, format and processing procedures of basic legal forms and documents. English grammar, punctuation, spelling and usage. Format and composition of routine correspondence and legal documents. Legal terminology, spelling and usage. Basic references for legal clerical work. Legal and general office clerical practices and procedures. Ability to: Compose routine correspondence and legal documents from minimum instructions. Prepare complex legal documents from specific instructions. Efficiently maintain accurate case files and records. Operate standard office machines and equipment, such as typewriters, word processors, computer terminals, printers, tape recorders, copiers, and multi-line telephones. Understand and follow oral and written directions and instructions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other agency personnel and the public. Communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing.
