Civil Rights Investigator
The candidate will be assisting with witness interviews, including drafting reports of interviews. Assisting in the drafting of documents, including requests for information from the targets of our investigations and other sources of information. Reviewing and assisting with digesting documents produced by the targets of our investigation. Researching the ownership of entities that are under investigation. Locating witnesses related to issue at hand and interview as required. Assisting with the selection of targets for Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) compliance reviews. Reviewing survey results for ADA compliance reviews. Assisting with locating victims of unlawful discrimination. Assisting with litigation tasks, including assistance with depositions and testifying at trial. Assisting with site visits as needed. Assisting with reviewing compliance reports that requires comparison between several documents to ensure proper compliance with agreed upon terms. Supporting USAO community outreach and engagement efforts. Other tasks that support the Civil Rights Enforcement Program. Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree such as Master’s or Juris Doctor is recommended. Should have 3+ years of previous investigative experience. Must have proven experience conducting entity research that are that are subject to investigations related to civil rights enforcement matters.
