Corporate Counsel Global Trade Compliance
Responsibilities: Support import and export compliance activities across the Americas including, without limitation, (i) providing advice with regard to tariff classification, valuation, COO marking and general customs regulations, (ii) prepare and file protests and requests for binding rulings, (iii) assist with annual reconciliation entries, and (iv) conduct post-entry audits for compliance purposes. Provide risk management and business and legal advisory support focused on management of tariff risks. Negotiate, draft, review, revise, interpret and finalize professional service consulting and sub-consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, supplier contracts, vendor contracts, data privacy agreements, and other transactional and legal documentation as necessary. Advise on complex legal matters, analyze legal (and business, where applicable) issues, negotiate legal and commercial issues and solve intricate problems using sound legal judgement and experience, with minimal supervision. Assist in internal investigations, dispute resolution, litigation and regulatory matters on an as-needed basis and with outside counsel, as applicable. Support and ensure compliance regarding implementation of proper import and export practices, policies, operating procedures and programs, including Omron Group Rules relating to Import and Export. Monthly report regarding major legal issues and projects with special reporting on US tariff and export issues. Other duties and miscellaneous projects as needed. Represent Omron in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner. Represents the Omron Guiding Principles through personal and business interactions with employees, distributors, and colleagues.
