Paralegal Internship (Summer)
Intern will provide paralegal services by conducting legal research, preparing preliminary legal analysis, and drafting of form legal documents, letters, and memoranda. Conduct in-depth analysis of legal issues utilizing available online research tools, internet resources, or printed legal resources. Research and evaluate state and federal regulations, sub-regulatory guidance, and agency contracts that govern all aspects of the origination and servicing of student loans and PHEAA-administered State Grant and Special Programs. Review and summarize regulatory enforcement actions and create a tracking mechanism documenting results. Draft form legal documents including preparation of subpoenas and notices of depositions; preparing entries of appearance, standard form interrogatories, and standard requests for requests for production; prepare summaries of discovery responses, and other work which requires a similar level of training, skill and experience. Upon completion of research and analysis, develop draft appropriate legal memoranda, correspondence, and documents as requested by PHEAA Attorneys. should have Current enrollment in a Paralegal certification program, Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s degree paralegal program from an ABA approved program.
