HR and Benefits Assistant
The candidate will be hiring; track applicants, coordinate interviews, draft and finalize offer packages, initiate background checks. Onboarding; update HRIS, coordinate and schedule new hire orientations, and serve as back up for orientations, file paperwork. Facilitate and track Harassment Prevention Training, in accordance with applicable current laws. Process monthly expense reports in Chrome River. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding employment, postings, filings and notices. Maintain accurate and up to date personnel file database (PeopleDoc) and department files. Keep HR department related items up to date on the firm's intranet. Maintain and distribute New Hire Packets, including distributing and posting current phone lists and office floor plans as changes occur. Accurately and promptly enter key dates in the various department Outlook calendars, as well as Firm intranet calendar. Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior level HR staff or management. Manage HRIS (UKG) by processing changes, supporting system configurations, and remaining current on trainings for various modules. Ensure data in HRIS system is accurate and consistent with other firm databases. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports that are necessary to carry out the functions of the department and company. Prepare periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested. Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, and employee recognition events. Draft memos and letters as directed. May assist with payroll functions including answering employee questions, fixing system errors, and distributing checks. . The individual should have the resourcefulness to analyze problems or needs, evaluate alternatives, and propose and implement solutions. The individual selected should be a good businessperson with the ability to communicate complex business issues to members of the partnership and relate them to consequences and results. The individual must have a strong capability to market and position the Firm in an advantageous way in the marketplace for talent. Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred. One (1) or more years of Human Resources, Benefits or Administration experience preferred. Prior legal industry experience is preferred.
