The candidate will teach undergraduate law courses in an ABA-approved paralegal program that also prepares students for law school; conduct scholarly research; advise students; and participate in departmental and university service. Candidates must also be willing to teach some evening, on-line, and/or off-campus courses and must participate in student-related activities, such as the mock-trial team, student clubs, summer law camp, LSAT prep, and civic-engagement activities. Teaching load: 4/4; introductory and upper division courses. Summer teaching available but not required. Annual contract renewal leading to tenure review is contingent upon successful progress toward tenure in the areas of teaching, professional achievement, and service. Advising students and participation in service opportunities. Engaging in scholarly activity (research, artistic activity and professional development) is expected. Must have JD degree from a law school approved by the ABA or Association of American Law Schools, active Bar license. Should have 5+ years of practicing law as well as experience supervising paralegals. Relevant civil litigation and/or general civil practice is required. Teaching experience in a higher education environment is preferred.
