ECVC Associate Attorney

A law firm in New York City is seeking an ECVC Associate Attorney to lead financing transactions and engage directly with investor-side clients. The successful candidate will foster relationships with institutional investors funding private technology and life sciences companies, focusing on the financing of high-growth businesses at various developmental stages, including seed-stage start-ups and pre-IPO unicorns.

Duties:

• Lead financing transactions, overseeing all aspects of the process.
• Interact directly with investor-side clients to understand their needs and provide legal guidance.
• Foster and maintain relationships with institutional investors financing private technology and life sciences companies.
• Focus on financing for high-growth businesses at all stages of development.
• Work on Preferred Stock financings for both seed-stage start-ups and pre-IPO unicorns, often on the same day.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience as an ECVC Associate Attorney.
• Prior experience primarily focused on investor-side work in financing transactions.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the state bar and eligibility to practice law in the state of New York.

Skills:

• Strong legal and analytical skills in the field of ECVC financing.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage and lead complex financing transactions.
• Proficiency in legal research and writing.
• Understanding of the technology and life sciences industries.
