SUMMARY

Bering Straits Information Technology, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Systems Administrator II in Washington, DC. This position will deploy, manage, maintain, and support Microsoft Windows (all versions), Active Directory, local applications, servers, workstations and related technologies. Respond to monitored alerts to quickly identify trouble source and implement resolution.

While under general direction must be able to work independently, is capable of applying critical thinking to solve complex technical problems and function as a reliable team member

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

Required (Minimum) Qualifications

Must be able to provide periodic 24/7 on call support.

Possess a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience within a WAN/LAN environment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret level security clearance with upgrade to SCI.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

Conduct system audits and data backups.

Assist with design and implementation of technical security technology and IT projects as directed.

Preferred

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

No supervisory responsibilities required

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, may be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to military base. Must have reliable transportation to/from work a necessity and must be able to obtain access to military installations.
