General Liability Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A leading national litigation law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its General Liability and Construction Defect Practice Group. This role is ideal for attorneys with at least three years of relevant litigation experience who are seeking to manage complex civil cases across California. The position offers opportunities for trial work, client interaction, and independent case management, along with a flexible hybrid or potentially fully remote work environment. Recruitment is being conducted on behalf of the firm.

Location:

• San Francisco, CA

Duties:

• Manage a litigation caseload independently, including local and national accounts throughout California

• Conduct depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts

• Prepare clients and witnesses for deposition and trial testimony

• Draft and respond to discovery requests and pleadings

• Handle court filings, including e-filing with state and federal courts

• Assist with trial preparation and provide courtroom support

• Maintain detailed and accurate time records for billing purposes

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience in general liability and/or construction defect practice areas

• Demonstrated experience with depositions and motion practice

• Ability to lead plaintiff and expert depositions

• Capable of managing cases with minimal supervision

• Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex legal matters

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in the State of California (required)

Skills:

• Superior legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in drafting pleadings and discovery documents

• Familiarity with California court rules and procedures

• Strong client service orientation and professional demeanor

• Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset
