US Bank Regulatory Attorney
The candidate will advise on US bank regulatory and other general corporate work. Will advise on US bank regulatory matters including permissible activities and investments; capital and liquidity requirements; Volcker Rule; enhanced prudential standards; applicable Federal Reserve regulations (such as Regulations K, O, W and Y); lending limits; and FDIC and other applicable banking regulations. Draft regulatory disclosures or other correspondence with bank regulatory agencies. Support the company's regulatory reporting function. Provide regulatory advice for new initiatives, product development, corporate strategic investments or partnerships, capital market transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Advise and prepare correspondence, notices or responses in connection with federal and state supervisory activities, such as management responses to exam reports. Monitor, analyze and operationalize applicable bank regulatory rule-making and related developments. Draft regulatory notices and other required submissions, as well as comment letters to regulatory agencies on proposed rules applicable to the company. Provide support to the company's government affairs function and regulatory policy and advocacy efforts. Should have a J.D. degree from a top tier school and excellent academic credentials. Must have 6-12 years of experience (either in-house, law firm or regulatory agency). Should have strong knowledge of core federal and state banking statutes and regulations, including Bank Holding Company Act, Federal Reserve Act, Dodd-Frank Act, Federal Deposit Insurance Act and other prudential and safety and soundness regulations, and how they apply to bank operations. Must have willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters/topics and to learn new areas.
