Duties: Manages the IS team responsible for the architecture and design of systems within the Firm. Manages the team responsible for, managing the Exchange Messaging environment. Managing Active Directory, DFS, DNS. Managing remote access including Always On VPN, Citrix, OWA. Enterprise SAN Storage using NetApp ONTAP. Netscaler ADC Load Balancing. Identity Access Management, onboarding and departures. Works closely with the Network Operations team, as well as the Communications team, to implement and integrate infrastructure designs for Data Centers and Remote Office Branch Office (ROBO). Participates and acts as a guiding voice in the IS Architecture Review Board. Works with other IS teams to develop and implement the BCPDR plan. Manages Architecture and Engineering IS staff, including hiring, training, evaluation, guidance and discipline. Provides mentoring and guidance for professional development to IS staff to meet the changing needs of the Firm. Develops standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to IS staff. Provides expertise and support during systems upgrades and installations. Assists with systems development and enhancement and the integration of new systems with existing systems. Oversees and advise on systems and requirements (architecture, technical design, security, etc.) for incoming and proposed new systems. Communicates regularly with executive management and all users of information services and systems. Ensures the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system manuals and documentation of modifications and upgrades. Keeps current with the latest technologies and determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements. Assists in the development and implementation of all IS policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, and standards. Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables and work appropriately with the project management team. Share responsibility for operational health and optimization of network infrastructure systems to ensure network performance and reliability for both production and disaster recovery environments and systems. Develops technology standards and best practices for enterprise network operations and the integration of new technologies as well as expansion, augmentation and upgrades of existing systems, devices and infrastructure software and OS versions. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards. Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures. Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented. Interface with large vendors and manufacturers and advise upper management on status and quality of large scale service and support contracts and whether they should be modified. Maintains close communications with senior IS management to ensure that all notifications regarding projects and work in progress are made on a timely basis and with complete detail to enable continuous computer operation within the firm; provide full coverage during the absence of the other IS management or staff; advise local offices and firm wide Information Security management as soon in advance as possible regarding down states or unavailable systems and anticipated availability. Operates within firm policies and guidelines and contribute to the Information Security group. Deals with problems in all aforementioned areas and is subject to demands caused by deadlines, downtimes and heavy workloads. Make recommendations as needed for upgrades, systems configuration changes and implementation of new measures or systems to assure secure high performance operation of firm’s infrastructure. Performs routine system administration functions in Manager's or staff’s absence, including after-hours and/or emergency response work.
