Equity & Title IX Specialist

The candidate will serve in several primary functions within the Office of Institutional Equity for IUB and the university system. The Equity & Title IX Specialist serves as one of OIE’s investigators responsible for responding to reports and complaints of discrimination and/or harassment on the basis of a protected class under the university’s non-discrimination policy, including Title IX related complaints, as well as claims of retaliation. In this role, sound judgment, excellent inter-personal and communication skills, professional discretion, and the ability to problem-solve and collaborate, are crucial to successfully investigating and resolving case-related challenges, and to ensure the university’s commitment to equity and diversity. Will also serve as an integral member of the OIE’s education and training team, responsible for developing and delivering training and education programs throughout the university in regard to preventing and addressing discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, and retaliation, as well as training on other Equity laws and compliance. Finally, the Equity & Title IX Specialist will assist OIE in coordinating the university’s compliance with EEO related laws by handling other related duties and initiatives as assigned.
