Leasing and Commercial Counsel
Duties: Partner with the Leasing team to oversee lease drafting and negotiation from term sheet through lease execution, and follow-on matters. Manage the allocation of transactions among outside leasing counsel and handle select transactions in-house. Oversee outside leasing counsel’s work product and monitor external legal spend against budget. Manage workflow to process requests for consent to sublease or assignment. Interface with lenders to seek approval of leases and SNDA’s where required. Draft lease related correspondence, including ROFO, Relocation and Expansion Notices, and FMR determinations. Supervise all work performed by ESRT’s current Legal Coordinator. Collaborate with the Deputy General Counsel and internal business clients to identify, implement and manage new digital technologies to automate and streamline production of legal documents, including leases and commercial contracts, and regularly update document templates. Advise internal business clients regarding rights and duties under leases and other commercial contracts. Assist Deputy General Counsel in workflow in general commercial contracts and litigation.
