Legal Counsel
The candidate will provide legal support to ECM, but may assist on capital markets projects throughout. Draft and negotiate weather, energy and agricultural commodity derivative contracts, related hedging documentation, joint venture and non-disclosure agreements, as well as advise on regulatory aspects of the business and on corporate governance matters. Assist in building the regulatory, documentation and compliance infrastructure as the business creates new products and enters new markets. Facilitate coordination of legal/regulatory issues among the business, the wider legal & compliance division, finance, risk management and other colleagues. Monitor legal and regulatory trends affecting relevant areas and advise and collaborate with Compliance and Risk Management colleagues in relation to preparation of reports, responses to inquiries and other regulatory matters. Foster and maintain positive working relationships with clients, colleagues and outside law firms. Conduct and/or arrange internal presentations and trainings on legal topics.
