Job Overview: A law firm seeks an Associate Litigation Attorney to join its dynamic team in Cleveland, OH. The firm has a strong national reputation for successfully litigating cases that other firms often avoid taking to trial. This role requires a skilled litigator who can independently manage a wide range of cases from inception through to jury trial. The position is based in downtown Cleveland with occasional travel requirements.

Duties:

• Independently manage assigned cases and legal dockets from beginning to end.
• Conduct comprehensive case investigations and develop strategies for motions and pleadings.
• Handle all aspects of discovery, including managing expert witness relationships and gathering evidence.
• Engage in trial preparation, including the development of trial strategies and arguments.
• Collaborate effectively with other attorneys, professional staff, and firm leadership.
• Provide timely, clear communication with clients, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
• Participate in business development initiatives to cultivate and maintain client relationships.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active Ohio State Bar membership.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
• Preferred experience in product liability, personal injury, general insurance defense, or commercial litigation defense.
• Admission to additional state bars is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree required.
• Admission to the Ohio State Bar required.

Certifications:

• Ohio Law License (required).
• Additional state bar admissions (preferred).

Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative approach to legal challenges.
• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as lead and supervise assigned staff.
• Proficiency in legal software and general computer applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Location:

• Cleveland, OH (in-office work required, with occasional overnight travel).
