The candidate will be responsible for assisting the Staff Attorney(s) with completing landlord-tenant legal work for assigned portfolios and properties, including notices to quit, notices of no trespass, lease violations, summary process and evictions, and other legal work as needed. Also assists the Staff Attorney with performance of general property management duties, subsidy compliance, and any legal administrative work at the request of the Staff Attorney(s). Prepares and distributes reports for the Staff Attorney(s) to deliver to property managers and senior staff regarding current cases and matters in any and all trial courts, as well as changes to landlord-tenant laws and procedures. Prepares drafts of commercial leases, management agreements, licenses, and related contracts. Prepares notification to residents of impending construction, and enhanced communications by and between clients, contractors, management and residents. Assists with drafts and files affirmative fair housing marketing plans, tenant selection plans and other property specific documents for new developments and rehabs. Assists with the preparation and submission of local, state and federal housing agency reports and required filings. Assists Staff Attorney(s) with administrative duties. High School Diploma/GED equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in law related field preferred. 1-3 years’ experience preferred, Landlord Tenant law and housing court experience preferred. Certification/Licensure: Certified Paralegal. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Ability to write business legal reports and correspondence. Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office Suite.
