Iron Mountain’s Information Governance and Digital Solutions (IGDS) group is hiring an experienced Operations Director. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced organization whose mission is to create and maintain the legal research that fuels one of IGDS’s flagship products – Policy Center. Our Policy Center Solution is the industry’s first subscription-based international retention research product. High-quality research compiled by top retention experts around the globe. That retention data is carefully reviewed and curated by our in-house legal team and delivered digitally to the customer through the Policy Center solution. The Operations Director is responsible for all aspects of this legal research function from initial procurement to quality control to delivery for Policy Center and its ongoing maintenance. You will work with internal and external teams in order to make the content services operation smooth running & profitable including internal lawyers, external lawyers, product management, consulting services, finance, program management & quality assurance.

Responsibilities:

Operations Management

Develop & manage the maintenance schedules for the delivery team including country-based legal research and content packages.

Arbitrate conflicts across delivery teams or escalate as required.

Partner with Advisory Service consultants to prepare statements of work for legal research including identifying the delivery costs and managing delivery schedules.

Develop and implement operational procedures, process improvement and key performance indicators for the research and content function

Develop yearly budgets for research in partnership with IGDS business unit leaders

Manage the financial performance for the year including actuals vs. budget and monthly forecasts

Process Improvement & Business Re-engineering

Lead process improvement initiatives to automate processes, reduce costs, streamline the legal partner procurement process, decrease the cycle time of the research production, generate loyalty from law firm partners and generally increase quality of content

Make recommendations to IGDS product managers for improvements that may impact other products or new areas (countries and package) to develop.

Partner with product managers to collect feedback for improvements

Leadership and People management

Provide leadership to the content development & delivery teams, supporting personal development and performance management. This includes:

An internal team maintaining and extending research for mostly subscribed jurisdictions,

Regional managers maintaining relationship with law firm network and curating and tracking their work for world-wide coverage (maintenance extension)

Templated retention schedule managers authoring and maintaining retention schedules templates and accelerators and any package content developed by content services team

7-10 years of relevant experience

Proven people leader experienced managing a geographically dispersed team of employees and external contractors

Strong facilitation and communication skills towards strategy development and problem solving

Solid process improvement background with hands on experience in assessing organizational capabilities, identifying strengths / weaknesses and leading a team towards greater operating efficiency

Strong understanding of data organization concepts such as data taxonomies, data tagging / indexing

Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

MS/BS degree in a Management, IT or Scientific discipline preferred

Ability to travel 10% of the time for company meetings, customer presentations and trade events
