Senior Assistant City Attorney
Duties: Drafting of city ordinances. Prosecution to enforce City Housing, Zoning, and Building Codes. Litigation of nuisance claims. Work with the housing and building departments. Litigate tax tribunal matters in the Michigan Tax Tribunal. Backup prosecution of misdemeanor and civil infraction docket in 15th District Court. Provide advice about City code compliance and state law issues involved with preemption of local ordinance by state statute. Provide advice, counsel and training to the various City units and departments and the City Council. Completion of special projects and other duties at the direction of the City Attorney.
