Western Illinois University seeks a collaborative leader to serve as the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions for Recruitment. This position, which reports to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Enrollment Services, will be responsible for leading a team of Admissions Counselors to drive the development and implementation of effective recruitment strategies to recruit undergraduate students to Western Illinois University. The position will provide supervision of the regional and Macomb-based freshman admissions counseling staff, developing recruitment plans and off-campus visit strategy. This includes high school visits and college fair strategies and staff training. This position is located on the Macomb campus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Function as part of the Undergraduate Admissions Office leadership team and work in close collaboration with the team to maximize recruitment opportunities.
Develop strategies and activities to identify, communicate with and attract a diverse population of prospective students to apply and enroll, both in Illinois and out-of-state markets. Partner with academic programs for recruitment opportunities.
Lead, manage, and assess territory management plans and strategies.
Supervise freshman admissions counselors and associated evaluation process.
Coordinate Macomb on-campus freshman and transfer staff training as needed.
Collaborate with associate directors for yearly staff training event.
Utilize recruitment functions of CRM (Slate) and ERP and other technology and train staff on usage.
Manage and oversee recruitment travel and ensure appropriate coverage at recruitment functions, including high school visits and college fairs, counselor-managed events, and coordinate payment process for recruitment events.
Oversee review process for alternative admission, called the Reach program.
Oversee high school Dual Enrollment admissions, including presentations and coordination of the enrollment process for students.
Manage processes of admissions car assignment and purchasing card transactions for monthly subscriptions.
Provide input for prospective student communications
Personally attend select on-and off-campus recruitment events and manage a small recruitment territory
Represent the office on University committees and teams, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
RANK & SALARY:

Earned bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Recent experience, within the last three years, working in Undergraduate Admissions in a professional capacity
Demonstrated experience in developing student recruitment strategies
Demonstrated work with a variety of technology applications, including enterprise systems, imaging and reporting systems, as well as working with a variety of other platforms, including Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
Excellent analytical, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, as well as organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and balance a variety of tasks.
Ability to lift (or have an adaptation to lift) up to 35-pound boxes of recruitment materials
Ability to work evenings, weekends & occasional overnight stays of multiple day length
Valid driver's license
Experience creating recruitment communications
Experience in planning travel for business purposes.
Experience working in higher education
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body) Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be in hand at the time of appointment.
