International Tax Associate - Winter or Summer 2023
The candidate will begin to utilize their educational background and organizational skills while taking direction from other, more experienced team members to assist in consulting with clients on cross-border tax matters; will include utilizing tax research skills to provide international tax advice and working with tax software applications to assist clients with tax reporting obligations for international operations. Bachelor's degree required. Accounting or another business-related major, preferred.J. D., LLM, and/or MST/MBT, preferred. An internship within a professional services firm is preferred. Tax experience preferred. CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), preferred. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, preferred. Experience utilizing RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis, and/or Westlaw, preferred. Should have solid verbal and written communications skills; strong analytical and basic legal and tax research skills; solid organizational skills especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details; capable of successful multi-tasking while working independently or within a team environment; ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels; basic understanding of the technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding one or more areas of taxation and law; knowledge and understanding of general calculations and cause/effect for taxable conditions on clients and the potential tax issues; strong legal writing background and familiarity with the IRAC method of analysis.
