Program and Fiscal Coordinator
to direct the financial management and reporting requirements of the institute and support operational efforts of the various components and programs within SIHI. The mission of SIHI is to serve as a statewide hub for health education, research, and outreach to improve access to healthcare and emerging health innovation for rural and underserved populations. Three components of the institute—rural health outreach, opportunities for inter-professional education, and implementation of precision medicine innovations—aim to combat health disparities faced by patients living in rural and tribal communities.
As a member of the administrative team, the SIHI Program and Fiscal Coordinator will report directly to the Director of SIHI. The person assigned to this position will participate in leadership meetings and lead quarterly budget monitoring and fiscal training with SIHI researchers. The Program and Fiscal Coordinator will ensure SIHI remains up-to-date with policies at the NIH and other funding agencies. This position will also play a key role in providing programmatic support to the institute, including assisting and tracking IRB approvals, compliance training, and human participant remuneration; coordinating SIHI events (e.g., events, symposiums) and group travel; and managing the SIHI website.

Acute attention to detail and organizational skills are essential. The position is the primary source of continuity for the functions of SIHI and will positively represent SIHI, acting as a liaison between SIHI and its affiliated UM academic departments, faculty, staff and students, the Office of Sponsored Programs, and the public.
