Labor Relations Officer
The candidate will be reporting to the General Counsel, the Labor Relations Officer is expected to successfully oversee and/or perform the following responsibilities: Collaborate with Chief Executive Officer (CEO), other senior leaders and school administrators to develop bargaining goals and strategies; Manage collective bargaining with 7 labor organizations representing 30,000 - 35,000 public sector employees, most of whom are licensed professional educators and related service personnel. Manage contract administration, including Implementation of all contract terms. Mid-term bargaining with all unions. Oversight of joint contractual committees. Oversee administrative hearings with respect to employee grievances and disciplinary issues. Provide oversight of labor related litigation. Advise and train 1200 administrators impacted by collective bargaining agreements and related labor issues. Provide regular briefings and updates to the CEO, senior leaders and the Board of Education on labor issues and developments. Review and advise on legislative proposals and their impact on labor relations.
